These facilities help students to improve their learning styles in every subject that was offered in Al-amjad Islamic School. Like in my case I teach science, so I have the chance to borrow some of the laboratory apparatuses in Integrated Science Laboratory. Al-amjad give me the opportunity also to use the science laboratory room, which I can let my students perform an activity to use some of the science process skills like experimenting. During our school tour, we had the chance to visit their library, which I can say that it is really a good place for the students in learning. And they are so lucky because in every classroom there is a multimedia projector, which can help students for a better learning, which they can view a video presentation to the topic that had discuss. Like me, when I teach I used the projector inside the classroom.

Teaching system:

The same in the Philippines, they have 2 semesters. For the Junior High School the class start at 8:00 am in the morning and end at 4:00 pm in the afternoon. In my case, my cooperating teacher let me handle 3 sections in grade 8, specifically VIII-2, VIII-4, and VIII-5.

Measurement and  Evaluation System

  • Group Activity or worksheet

  • Individual quiz

  • Semester Test

These are my bases in my students performance, I always gave them a group activity or worksheet, which my students can share ideas with their classmates. My individual test that I gave to them is usually 10 items test, specifically a multiple choice type of test. This semester test is usually given by my cooperating test that covered all of the topics in a semester.

Part of the Lesson:

I. Elicit

(Prayer): Good morning class, please all stand and we will start our class with a prayer. So, may I request one representative to lead the prayer.

(Energizer): Please remain standing and we will be having our ice breaking or the energizer. We will have a softdrinks dance when I say pepsi you move your hips on the left side, when I say sprite you move your hips on the right side, when I say pepsi you move your hips backward and when I say fanta you move your hips forward.

Okey are you now ready?

Okey let us tart the energizer.

(Review): Okey for a review may I request one representative to share with me about your topic yesterday that you have discussed.

II. Engage

(Motivation): Class I have here flash cards, so I want you to read these words.

Heart

Hypertension

Arteries

Veins

Capillaries

Very good, so these words are related to the topic that we need to discuss today. And we will go over these words later on. So class our lesson for today is all about circulatory sytem.

III. Explore

(Grouping of Students): Class, I have here rolled papers. Please pick one and open it, then wait for my final instruction.

Those who got the number 1 will be the group 1 the same also to numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5. Okey you can now go to your group. You will be the one to choose your leader and your reporter.

Each group I will give to you the activity sheet. I want you to read the paragraph first and answer the question below on your activity sheet. You can also share ideas to finish your activity early. Remember the importance of cooperation and unity. I will give you 20 minutes for your activity. After that your reporter must prepare to report your work.

(Group Activity): Okey? Are you now ready? You can now do your activity.

Time is up, let us now proceed to reporting. We will start from group 1, followed by groups 2,3,4, and 5.

Very good! You did well in your activity.  Everybody deserves a Very good clap. Okey lets do the very good clap.

IV. Explain

(Discussion): Okey so based on your activity you already have the knowledge about circulatory system so this time I want you to listen to my discussion to learn about more circulatory system.

Circulatory system is the system that moves blood throughout the body.

The circulatory system is composed of the heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins.

This remarkable system transports oxygenated blood from the lungs and heart throughout the body via the arteries. The blood goes through the capillaries which are situated between the arteries and veins.

And the blood that has been depleted of oxygen by the body is then returned to the lungs and heart via the veins.

The heart is the most noticeable in the circulatory system. This hallow organ is a muscular pump, pushing blood through the body.

The arteries are the blood vessels that deliver oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the tissues of the body. Each artery is a muscular tube lined by smooth tissue and has three layers.

The capillaries are the smallest vessels of the blood circulatory system and form a complex interlinking network.

The veins are the blood vessels that carry deoxygenated blood from the parts of the body back to the heart.

Some of the diseases on the circulatory system are stroke, heart attack, anemia, leukemia, and high blood pressure (hypertension).

Stroke usually results from blood clots that block vessels in the brain, or from a rapture of a blood vessel.

Heart attack can occur when the blood supply is cut off from the heart, often by a blood clot.

Anemia is an abnormally low level of hemoglobin, a protein that binds to oxygen in red blood cells.

Leukemia is a disease in which extra white blood cells are produced.

Hypertension means the force or pressure of the blood flowing through the vessels is consistently too high.

V. Elaborate

(Generalization):

To have a recap of what we have discussed today, let me ask you some questions about circulatory system.

  1. What is circulatory system?

  2. What are the parts of the circulatory system?

  3. What are some of the health problems that we can get on circulatory system?
