PROCEDURES OF TEACHING
A teacher must be responsible enough and creative to make your lesson be interactive. Since I am a teacher, I don’t have any choice just to be responsible and creative so that I can get the attention of my students. Actually I have several materials that I have prepared before teaching, My Cooperating teacher told me to handle 3 sections and then she gave me the topics that I should teach to them.
Well, the first step that I should do, of course to make a lesson plan. Umi Nisa told me just to follow the steps of her lesson plan, but I think for me it is not effective if I just follow her lesson plan, and another reason is I cannot understand her lesson plan because it was written in Bahasa. And my UMSU coordinator, Ms. Yayuk told me also that it is not effective if I will just follow her lesson plan. So Ms. Yayuk told Umi Nisa that we should make our own lesson plan, and it is okey to her. Then I make my lesson plan in the format of 7 E’s, even though I am a physical science major it is not a hindrance to teach circulatory system and respiratory system. Because as a future teacher you need to be knowledgeable enough and be open for everything. So, in making my lesson plan, I make first the objectives of the lesson and used the competencies that was given to me by Umi Nisa. In my lesson plan, I used varied teaching strategies like motivation, group activity, and included the evaluation and assessment I should use.

Second step that I should do is to make my Visual aids and worksheet for my students. First, I search some of the worksheet on the internet then I downloaded the worksheet and edit it to make more interactive and useful for the learners to catch up the lesson. I also made powerpoint presentation, to be honest it so hard for me to make it. Because in making a powerpoint presentation, it should be bulleted form and catchy to eye for every learners to get their attention. You must use proper animation and transition in creating a powerpoint presentation. I also make some visual aids that I did not use any electronic devices, like flash cards and crosswords puzzle. To be honest again, I hesitate to do that kind of thing because I really have a bad penmanship. But then, as a teacher you must be resourceful and creative. So I just used ruler, pencil, and pentelpen to make my penmanship quite good.

Lastly the step that I should do before teaching, is to give my lesson plan to my cooperating teacher. So that she can check if there is a revision or correction to my lesson plan before I teach. But Umi Nisa cannot understand English well, so my buddy needs to translate my lesson plan first in Bahasa, so that Umi Nisa will check it.

After checking my lesson plan these are the things that I did during teaching:

Motivating students for a new lesson through a activity which is describing pictures.

Presentation of the new lesson, through crosswords puzzle,

Group students into 5 groups.

Giving activity sheet to each group and students do their activity.

Checking of group activity to start the discussion of the new lesson.

Asking students question about the topic we had discussed.

Giving evaluation to the students to test their understanding about the lesson.

Giving of assignment for tomorrow’s lesson.

TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZING ATIVITIES

During demonstration, I am given 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish the all of the parts that I included to my lesson plan. So these are the things that I did in managing the time and organizing activities:

Giving allotted time to all the activities that I included to my lesson plan.

Prepare all of the materials needed before teaching.

All group activity is given only for 10-15 minutes.
-
I should limit my discussion for 25 minutes.

Students copy the writings on the board after discussion.

Giving evaluation for the students to test their understanding for 15 minutes.

PROBLEM SOLVING
Since almost of my students cannot understand English well, what I did is to learn some of the basic Bahasa language like counting numbers from 1-10. Because when my students pass their test paper I always count 1-5 in Bahasa so that they can understand. Like I say “students pass your paper at the count f 5, satu, duwa, tiga, empat, lima” and there is a case that they cannot understand some of the parts of respiratory system. So to solve the problem, I learned some of the basic parts of Respiratory system in Bahasa. Like Respiratory system is Sistem Pernapasan Manusia, and some parts like lung is paru-paru, nose is hidung, and larynx is tekak.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
In managing classroom, these are the things that I did during teaching:

Maintaining the classroom physical environment, it should be clean and organize by assigning cleaners.

Monitoring their attendance everyday before starting the lesson.
-
Establishing discipline in every activity. Like to follow my rules inside the classroom.
